would he ask you first if it's ok or would he just go whether it inconveniences you or not?
As you can guess the latter has happened to me.

OH has gone off with a mate for two days leaving me to look after dogs, children etc. He didn't even ask if it was ok or if I minded. Common curtesy I would have thought. I wouldn't dream of going away for a few days without asking if it was ok.

Am I over-reacting or not? TIA

Gone cruising in a big boat ummmm
Garnier - My OH's mate doesn't like me. Although we got on great before me and OH got together. He's a singledom as well....
Question Author
I will ric.ror.

I always ask him if we have anything planned before I go anywhere. I'm off on a course for four days soon and asked him first. If it wasn't ok then I wouldn't have gone. For me my animals and children are paramount to me.

I don't mean to tar all single 40 year olds with the same brush as gay but I am not the only one that has said it about him.
Gone cruising....it always makes it a little bit worse when they are doing something appealing.

Make sure you do the rain dance...breakfast, lunch and dinner!!
Question Author
No emergency contact number only his mobile but being out to sea I'm not sure if he has a signal if there was an emergency redman41

Lol@ummmm

And the wind dance!
Is is just me who finds it ironic that they've gone cruising ? :o)
No....lol.
Question Author
I would be more worried if they went horse riding. Brokeback mountain springs to mind!
Is it just the two of them?
Question Author
Well if anything your answers have cheered me up and made me laugh. Now I must go and fetch daughter and will catch up with any other answers later. Thanks everyone.
Question Author
Yes just the two ummmm
If I was doing this I'd run it by my OH and if she didn't approve I'd still go anyway

You don't own him do you?
Question Author
Ha ha. Do I own him? No of course not!
But when you have shared responsibilities ie dogs, children to take care of then surely you would make sure that they are catered for before you go away? As I said before. Common curtesy.
Exactly Garnier. Curtesy and respect you would extend to anybody, not just your partner.
wouldn't bother me at all but showing respect by telling me would be important, I go for away, still, for girlie weekends but before I enter into any plans, I tell him (not ask)
hes given you 5 days notice, and hes doesnt have to get your permission.

you have had a week to tell him your objections, you didnt, so maybe he thought all was ok

you made it sound like hed just gone, and left a note, and you had no idea...
