I've just bought some headlamps for an older car, the good old round sealed beam type that all the oldies once used. They are marked LEFT DRIVE. Does that mean Left Hand Drive, OR for vehicles that drive on the left hand side of the road?

Sounds to me like Left hand drive.

Personally I swapped over to halogens a couple of years ago. The kits are cheap and easy to fit and you can suddenly see again. Unless you're entering competions I can't see why you'd want to stick with sealed beam units.

Hi LJ, probably driving on the left hand side of the road,  You can sometimes tell by looking at the front of the light, there should be a difference in pattern between the right and left side of the lens, if its for the UK the right side will be a straight pattern and the left will have a falling triangle sort of effect to the pattern shape.
