I have to have regular BT`s and to-day the hospital phoned me to say my inr was 7.0 where it usually stays around 3.0 -3.5 and as I don`t drink alcohol, eat grapefruit or it`s juice, and my diet hasn`t altered in any way, makes me wonder what has caused this increase. I have had to miss to-day`s dose and have another test in the morning. I have had tinned peaches in the last couple of day`s and wonder if they cause INR increase

That is a high result and may mean many things, but if i remember correctly your are taking anticoagulants in which case the dose may well have to be increased.
If you are not taking anticoagulants then ignore my comments.

INR is also raised in liver disorders, but is not a very sensitive test and there are other liver function tests that are more diagnostic.

You question will soon be answered when you see your Dr. if he changes the dose of your anticoagulants or arranges more blood tests of liver function.
