Buying a new TV with Xbox in mind

If a TV is 'HD ready' does this mean that the XBOX will run in HD on it?
Does the Xbox come with the HDMI lead? (if it does its probably still in the box)

I'm not sure what the difference between HD Ready and Full HD is.

HD ready means the TV is capable of receiving an HD signal but does not guarantee 1080P 'full hd' e.g. it could only be 720P/1080i.

I dont believe the Xbox comes with an HDMI lead so you would need to buy one but dont be fooled by the expensive cables. They offer nothing more than a cheap and cheerful cable for a few quid would as its all 1's and 0's so no definition is lost.

You dont need to use an HDMI cable for HD from the xbox either. You can use the cable that I believe comes with it allowing for conmponent connection which your tv should also support (this is how mine is connected). That lead has a switch on it to move it up to HD. Before moving upto HD make sure your Xbox 360 display setting is 60Hz as some older games will only play if this has not been done and it is a pain to retrospectively set-up.

Booldawg - The screen must have a refresh rate of 100hz I never new this but I went to buy a new TV specificaly for playing games, went to Richer sounds and said to the bloke can I have this TV as per your ad, said I wanted it for gaming.

He pointed out you need a refresh rate of at least 100hz other wise your games can run jerky. The higher refresh rate is more expensive, but the games are looking and playing fantastic.

My Elite came with an HDMI lead! But it does differ as a mate of mine didnt get one but had a transfer cable instead and i didnt, Go figure!?

I also disagree about the HDMI quality issue as well but we wont go there as its a thorny issue!
