ms stands for milli-seconds.I dont know for sure, but I would assume that a 16ms response time is faster than 30ms.

The number is the time it takes to refresh the screen. So a lower number is better, ie quicker refresh and therefore your eye will not notice it.

Be aware that TFT monitors are NOT as good for playing games as CRT monitors, so I would suggest you search the web for game playing websites where they review tft monitors.

If you search google for phrases like "TFT for gaming" you will get some helpful sites, like this one.

This append may have been better in the Internet and Technology section, in fact it may be worth you putting it there as well.

Whoops, my mistake it IS in the "Internet and Technology" section.

I had been loking in the "How it works" section and thought I was still there.

With regards to TFT monitors, milli-seconds is actually the measurement for the amount of time it takes for a pixel to go from inactive (off) to full brightness and back to off again.
16milli seconds is a shorter duration than 30 milli seconds.  One milli second is one thousandth of a second.
