Heart problem ?

I have 2 miniature Schaunzer aged 7 years. When I took for their annual boosters, the vet told me that he could hear a clicking sound when listening to the heart of 1 of them. When I asked what it meant, the vet said that he didn't know and that the dog should be seen by a cardiologist. I haven't noticed any change in her habits or behaviour and wonder, before I start thinking of following the vet's suggestion, if any readers are familiar with the problem. The practice has recently had a change of owners and I have noticed a subtle change to nudge pet owners into trying new (and expensive ) therapies.....I love my dogs and will pay for any treatment, if it is necessary. Unfortunately I cannot get a second opinion.....any comment will be welcomed by this pensioner !

Some dog clubs run heart testing sessions, where abouts do you live, I will check if there are any in your area.

thank you Lankeela . I live near Huddersfield (West Yorkshire ). I often wish that the PDSA would run a fee-paying clinic for those of us who sometimes do need an impartial second opinion. Thank you.
I'm sorry to say that we found the same Lily, with our last vets - other treatment and diagnostics were offered which we didn't feel necessary. We changed vets - and the fees came down too.

thank you Boxtops for your comment. I do not want to change the surgery I go to as, in the past, I have always been satisfied with the service I got. But, as I said, there have been recent - slight changes - nudging us to try other treatments ( all more expensive that the present ones ). I wish only to have the opportunity to consult another vet for a second opinion......just to tell me what a "click" in the heart means exactly !!!
