over the last few months i've awoken in the nights with horrendous sweats - my nightie and bedding is so wet that my husband one night thought i'd actually wet the bed! it doesn't happen every night (or at least doesn't wake me every night) but about 3 or 4 times a week. I know that this is a symptom of menopause but i don't have any other symptoms. If i go to the doctor, will they do a blood test to confirm if they think its menopause? i'm just concerned that they'll fob me off and i'm worried that its something more sinister.

By the way, i'm 37, on the mini-pill, had a baby in October, periods have been sporadic since re-starting the mini-pill in January but mine have pretty much always been all over the place. no other symptoms, that i can think off ...

go for a blood test it is probably your hormones
Anxiety and stress can cause night sweats. Have you got any symptoms of an overactive thryroid? Pregnancy can put your thyroid out of kilter and that can give you night sweats. Could be hormones. I doubt it`s anything sinister though.
The docs would do a follicle stimulating hormone test to see if it`s menopause but you`re a bit young for that.

cant think itd be the menopause?.......im on mini pill, been on it before i had kids for 6 yrs then for at least 2 other times after for a year at a time, always gave me acne and made me sweat ridiculously... never in night sweats, but i couldnt wear tight tops as id get massive sweat patches. now i use expensive sports deodorant that you only us 3 imes a week!!!!!! i have never smelled with it, just exsessively sweated.......so odd. on waiting list for coil, just gotta decide now whether to have progeterone or normal!! so risking same symptoms as mini pill or having painful longer periods! great being a woman aint it?! x
