so worried!!!

hi everyone i am just looking for some advice and help as im worrying myself sick keep thinking to myself...sorry if this is long but here goes....yesterday morning i started bleeding ( was 6 weeks aprox) i went straight to the hospital were they did an internal scan which had come back with an empty sac and no heartbeat...the lady said i may only be 5 weeks and therefore cannot detect anything just yet so come back in a week....when i got home that evening i started to bleed more than that morning and this time was fresh red blood with lots of clots no bigger than a 50p. i have had no pain in my stomach tho...i never had any pregnancy symptons either just a missed period so i cannot tell if im still pregnant or not...im worrying sick that when i get there next tuesday still nothing would have appeared,,,i rung the hosp this morning to tell them i was bleeding more but they said unless i get worse and start getting severe pain then to go back otherwise to wait until my scan nxt tuesday...im so worried cant help thinking the worst!! xx

I suppose to check that there were no remnants of conception that may need removing.

I'm afraid I agree with Squad. It is quite common to miscarry at about 6 weeks especially if it is a first pregnancy (about 1 in 3 I believe) and for it to be like a heavy period. Before there was home testing for pregnancy and being able to find out you are pregnant almost straight away, more people are getting disappointed when they miscarry at this stage, years ago you would have just thought you had a late heavy period.

It would be nice if Sqad and I were both wrong and I hope we are.

For medico-legal reasons they would need to be 100% certain.

this is my 2nd child i had no problems with my first just a bit poorly...this blood has behaved exactly like a period just without the pain x

sorry, but you are not going to really know until you have a scan next week. all you can do is wait.

I think you just have to wait and see, I'm afraid.

In other words you may still be pregnant as it is too early to detect a heart beat.

I personally really do have a problem with being able to confirm pregnancy virtually straight away.

It can lead to so much more worry in my opinion and so many more people get really disappointed.
