Hi folks.
A house across from ours is for sale at the moment and unoccupied. The house alarm started sounding at 8.30pm. I don't know if another neighbour has contacted the owner, but he arrived about an hour ago to switch it off. Apparently the electricity meter is a prepaid one that has now run out of emergency credit. He says the alarm is sounding from the battery backup, but he has no way to silence it and is going to leave it until the battery runs out. I thought a house alarm should silence after 20 minutes. He's lucky enough to have another house to go to well away from the sounding alarm! I hope there are plenty folk on here tonight because I don't think I'll be having much sleep tonight!!!!
Rant over, thank you!

He should be putting money in the meter - he'll end up with a huge bill if he doesn't cos there's still a daily standing charge. Apart from that he's an inconsiderate so and so...
Why can't he take the battery out?
Find out who called him and get the phone number, that way you can annoy him by ringing his phone all the time the alarm is sounding.

As others have said, he should have removed the back up battery!!

The house is up for sale after the couple have divorced. Apparantly the wife has the electric key so he has no way of topping it up. As fo removing the battery, he says he has no way of accessing where the battery is. If it keeps going, he won't have to worry because I'll smash the thing to pieces for him!!!!!!
How awful for you. Can you perhaps ring the police? I don't think he would be allowed to leave it on like that.
