The plan is to have a rest before back to work on Monday. Very very busy today, why do people go shopping on a hot day at the seaside? Spent a lovely half hour taking coffee in the sunshine with Doc and Puss. smashing people, very interesting to chat to as well,

That's what I never understand with Bank holidays - at the most, the stores are closed for 24 hours. Remember the days when shops closed at lunchtime on Saturday, and didn't reopen until Monday? - however did we cope?!
Don't know why people do that dotty, when I worked at TKMaxx people would come in and say "Isn't it lovely out today!" took a lot for me not to say "Firstly I'm stuck in here all day so thanks for rubbing it in and secondly, if it's so nice out why the bloody hell are you in here??"
I thought the same as you boxy, Asda was heaving today at 11.30. Years ago the shops closed, we could go to the wet fish shop for the fish for dinner, and buy the hot cross buns at the bakers. Apart from that it was treated as a holy weekend, no washing on the line, and Easter Eggs (or boiled eggs with coloured shells) on Sunday.

Sorry dotty for going off thread. Enjoy your 2 days holiday.

I still feel bad when I have to put washing out on a Sunday, but it's often the only day i get to do it!
I've been very canny and booked 3 days' leave next week, which means I get a full 11 days before I have to listen once more to the twittering little tart that is my boss.
I know what you mean dotty, when I got married I often put the washing out on Sundays because I worked full time, but always with a guilty concience.

yeah I heard today that a lot of folk have done that, great news really cos it means the roads will be quiet next week with no rush hour as such
OH has booked 3 days off so he's off for 11 days :-)
And we're in Blackpool next week :-)
I hope you enjoy your stay in Blackpool ummmm, but there is a lot of disruption at the moment on the prom, mainly between South and up to Gynn sq. They are renewing the tram lines and generally updating the whole area and a lot of work around the tower means that pavements are boarded up and access to prom limited. Looking past that it's still a fun place and hopefully by 2012 it will be the bees knees.
