Im thinking of doing something like a Tombola at my local car boot, I was wondering if there's restrictions against this? Whether a permit is needed or any other form of consent? Everything would be legitimate, shop bought goods, relatively good odds at winning, all prizes have eligable tickets... that sort of thing. Just wondering if anyone can shine a light on this for me, thanks :D

As it's a sort of gambling, you had better check with your local council, or the organisers of the car boot sale. You might need a licence. We have raffles at our local drama group performances, but that's a bit different, people have paid to get in.
You do need a licence.
you need a license from the council unless it is the 'tin of peas' stuck to a raffle ticket type and then i wouldn't bother! but hone to check anyway! xx
Actually getting very difficult with these events. With the Health and safety malarky.
I know, not quite the same as a car boot sale
Our local fete used to be very good. Until they stopped all sort of things. No facepainting, kids might get allergic reaction. No wellie wanging, someone might hit by wellington accidently, no tug of war might get rope burns on arms other body parts, the list is endless. These fundraising events are being demolished with the fear of being sued. Im sure some jobs worth will find a health and safety issue with a Tombola ( no sorry only joking with that last remark)
someone might get their arm stuck in the tombola barrell - or is anyone allergic to sawdust....?!
OMG boxtops, didnt think of sawdust. They will need to provide goggles and facemasks. So they dont clog up their lungs or get it in their eyes LOL
