what area are you from?? and whats your budget??

Too broad a question, as Lisax says we do not know anything about your interests or hobbies, likes or dislikes, or budget

A general suggestion would be Centre Parcs. There are 3 or 4 of them in the UK, and you can stay either midweek (Monday to Friday), or weekend (Friday to Monday).

They are lovely chalets in woodlands, and they have lots of facilities on site, some free, like swimming, others you have to pay for.

You can take bikes, or hire them there, and cycle round the local woods. The are great get-away-from-it-all holidays.

Of course you may want something more lively, but you did not say.

One other option is to go to the Lake District.

Beautiful area with loads of wonderful mountains and lakes. Plus is very attractive in the Autumn with all the heather on the hills.

Plenty of hotels and B&Bs, and if you stay somewhere "touristy" like Windermere or Keswick quite a few shops and pubs and places to eat.

South West Scotland, just been, and it has been a very long time since I have seen such beautiful sunsets! Great weather too.
What about a city break in Liverpool - soon to be Capital of Culture?
go to Scotland and travel as far west as you wish.   The most beautiful scenery in the world awaits you and some of the friendliest people you could ever meet.  Prices cheap (apart from petrol), nowhere will be  overcrowded and most places are entirely unspoilt.
