Maybe I'm getting less patient with this quiz but it has left me stumped this week. I think the answer to Q2 is Bow Creek, referring to the Blackwall Thames Ironworks where HMS Warior was built but Q1 (name of the cavernous building) suggests Saint Pancras Station. Anyone solved it yet?

I'm stumped too.  Thought at first it was Charing Cross, though St Pancras now seems more likely.  (Can't confirm the  285 ft wide bit, though).  You've got further than I have on the creek.

You're way off with St.Pancras. Need to work backwards - clue: Microsoft!!
hi Top Cat2    could it be The Gherkin  if wideboy knows why not say
Not the gherkin, I'm not saying because - unlike crosswords - this is like an adventure and needs a lot of work (a lot more than just Googling a clue).
PS. St.Pancras used to be the widest.

OK wideboy, working backwards from Blackwall Ironworks (assuming that is correct, i.e Bow Creek) am I travelling by London Underground?

Sorry, the Microsoft clue has left me cold. Windows, Gates, ...???

Are you at the docks?
I'm so frustrated - cannot find cavernous building
Go to the right docks and find the bridge across - the building is near by.
Top Cat2 - Commonly used Microsoft package.
Thanks Wideboy!!

Logged on to share my answer, having worked it out this morning, but I see you have too!  All good fun!

Sorry, I'm being particularly thick - I really can't find the answer to the name of the cavernous building despite your clues and I've been looking all morning.

Please can someone help?!

Victoria Docks and the bridge across it. Building near by.

Well, this one got us all going. Thanks to wideboy I have worked it out as the Excel Exhibition Centre. This is what comes of having an out-of-date Rough Guide.

Many thanks to all concerned.

Hopefully someone will let us know if they get the holiday!
