Went to the park yesterday and saw two young lads walking their dogs, one dog started pooing and they both just casually walked away as if they didn't see a thing!

I even shouted across the park at them very loudly and said " Would you like a bag?"
After completely ignoring me I shouted " I guess not!"

Disgusting. So many children playing there too. It's a real problem because by the time you ring up the dog warden, they have moved on.
Rant over!

Pass me the bucket!
My 2 year old slipped on some Scruffs dog poo and banged her head. On the path too. I was so angry. Not only is it damn right disgusting, but clearly can be dangerous too.
when my son was in his pram ,i was walking down a steep hill on the way home when i slipped on sh?t,i fell down and let the pram go,luckily it crashed into the wall and stopped,i thought it was going to go onto the busy road, that happened a long time ago but i've never forgotten the fright i got
Does many people on here use fixmystreet?
http://www.fixmystreet.com/

You can use it to report numerous things and they will contact the relevent people.

I have used it to report dog mess, as our walk to school was always littered with it, and the council came and cleaned it up that very day!
.
I keep using it, on the assumption that if the council keep getting called out to clean up in the same area they might do something about these irresponsible dog owners!

Seems to be working, I havent reported any dog mess for a while now!
Dog walkers near where I live bag it but then dump the bags.
Some Parks down here (poole) have posts with free poopy bags for dogs owners so there is no excuse!
I use fix my street, it really is excellent, I have become a right nuisence to the council as a result..
I havent used it for a while, just been looking at it now...seems potholes are the most popular thing down my street!
We give out bags at my work - but folk are so greedy. You give them one pack and they then ask for more, so we run out. Then they say 'oh well I'll just let my dog cr*p everywhere then shall I?'. We've run out because they want so many and it's not like you can buy them or, heaven forfend, use an ordinary bag in an emergency!
When I had old Shaney I always picked his doings up and disposed of it in the bins or took it home and disposed of it.
If you own a dog it's your responsibilty to pick up after them , unlike the the mums who used to sling their childrens dirty nappies under the benches in the park where I walked him ,in spite of the fact that there was a bin in front of their very eyes .Dirty buggers .

And don't get me started on cats that poop in my garden .I would love to have another dog but circumstances don't allow .
My neighbours cat thinks my garden is it's personal loo .Grrr.
I feel like picking up it's poo and shoving it through his letterbox .I dream about getting another dog and letting it crap on his lawn and see how he likes it .
You may gather that I have no time for cats :).

Why do people ask you for bags Karen ?
Good God they are cheap enough .I used to buy nappy sacks in the pound shop for my pooches poops or use plastic bags garnered from shopping .

Laylabellablueyes and slinkykate- awful experiences for both of you.

I have never heard of fix my street. Will have a look.
And the stupidest people are the ones who pick the poo up then hang it on a tree! Why?
Karenmac60-our nature park gives out free bags but you always get the greedy ones who take more.

Shaneystar2. - we have cats next door who poo in our garden. We put it in a nappysack and leave it on his doorstep. And when we have no bags, we just use a shovel and
throw it back!
I live near a large park so lots of dog walkers using my road as a cut through and quite often mess left about.

There are also frequent dogs running around alone. There are a couple I've seen a few times so either they are good at escaping or their owners aren't fussed about letting them run out on their own. One in particular is aggressive when approached (the other is big so didn't even try when it was crapping on my front lawn) and caused quite a bit of damage trying to get into next door's garden after their female dog (they had her done after that), wrecked a fence panel which had to be replaced and caused other damage. I've reported it to the Dog Wardens a few times now.

I've also physically got between a couple of wandering dogs (including an Alsation and staffi) and my cats until I could get them in safe.

I came home a few weeks back and a man was walking so far ahead of his off lead dog he didn't even notice (or care) that it was taking a big crap on my front lawn, it was a big dog, rottweiler I think, and there was no way I was going to try and get it away.

Makes me mad!
Shaney, the council provides them and a few local places distribute them - the Police Station, the vet's and libraries (where I work)
