Any ideas what (romantic) present I can get for my wife for our second aniversary - one with a cotton theme. I want something a bit romantic as opposed to a cotton teacloth.....(but she might get one of those as well).

Some ideas here, bit nothing very romantic, except perhaps bed linen (sexy romantic bed linen ?)

What about buying her a nice, light cotton dress or t-shirt, with a card that says 'you can wear this while we're on holiday in.....' and take her on a weekend break somewhere?
The most loveliest thing my husband has bought me so far (apart from my wedding ring) is a set of pure white egyptian cotton bedding and pure goose down ultra light duvet from Habitat with a little note about conceiving a baby in them. It is sooooooo snuggly and never want to get out bed.
I don't know about other people, but if I were married, and for an anniversary present my husband gave me something for the house, I'd be a bit annoyed. I think you have to at least try to make it personal to the person that you married? For example, that website has ideas like placemats, tablecloths, towels, etc - I wouldn't mind getting something like that from a relative, but from my husband??? It'd make me think he only married me for my housework skills!! I really like kelbillug's idea, and lilyfrog's idea is nice too - it's housey stuff, but that message - how lovely??!!!
Egyptian Cotton = trip to Egypt?  A tenuous link and a pricey gift but it's the only thing I can think of apart from a nightdress or something.  Depends on what kinda of lady she is, but I have a strange desire for a old, victorian style white cotton nightdress, I don't know why!  I guess the style could be romantic in the literary (no, I don't mean literal :) ) sense of the word.  Jane Austen-esque and such

Thanks all - still not really sure what to do - got a couple of weeks still, so hopefully something will come up.

Am thinking of going away for the weekend so may do the tshirt thing.

Any other contributions / ideas gratefully received

How about a reel of cotton leading to where it came from, the cotton fields in Louisiana, Georgia, etc

Does the actual present have to me cotton? Jelliej got me thinking with the cotton reel idea. You could give her the end of a reel that you have trailed thru various rooms of the house & get her to find where it ends & have a fab pressie like diamonds waiting for her.

(Sorry lelliej- cant read properly without specs- hope no offense caused)
