I Love Jumble Sales!
8 Answers
I went to one last week and spent £1 for 5 items of clothing & shoes. I've put them on Ebay and they are currently up to £52! What an easy way to make money for my favourite charity. I'm going to another one this afternoon.

A lady at the kennels she works at part time gave her a suitcase full of mostlly mens stuff, but there were some original 1960's ladies clothes, she said they were too good to alter and sold them on Ebay, netting herself over £400. One Biba top went for £70, and a Mary Quant dress went for £140
My mum loved jumble sales and charity shops. I haven't seen a jumble sale advertised for years.
There are bargains in the charity shops but many have become wise as to what is valuable and what is not.
In the Oxfam shop I 'work' in we sell mainly books and music. I try and find values of some of the older books on-line so that we can ask for a higher price either in the shop or on-line via ABE books. We have a lovely shop - but then I am biased.
