We weren't allowed to, nor the little tiny skirts. There was a length ruling on workwear where I worked. Mind you, that was why we wore two pairs of pants - one under the tights, and pretty ones over....

I worked at the OU when it first opened and it was full of celebrities and BBC teams. Loads of arty crafty types and we dressed as we liked. It was great - bars and restaurants, concerts on the lawns at lunch time and Milton Keynes was just a tiny little village and the OU was surrounded by countryside!!

Working in ad agencies meant I never had to adhere to a dress code-thank goodness.
I didn't want to feel 'boxed in' in any way....
In High School-I refused to take the advice of my elders and take typing and shorthand-as I was never going to do a job that required them!

Typing was one of the most useful things I ever learned to do. Not just for work - for life in general!! ;o)

As far as I was concerned-graphic artists did not type...lol
It would have come in handy though to learn type-setting.
