If you remember I have had a persistant cough for about 3 months now. 2 lots of antibiotics and had a chest Xray which found that the blood vessels in my lungs were inflammed. Booked in for an echogram on 6th April.

I went back to docs on Friday and saw my own Doctor, I told him that I have been having "Episodes". My heart feels like it stops, then restarts but my heart rate goes up considerably. Up to 130-140 BPM at rest. This can last up to two hours and can be very intense. Had about 6 of these episodes since the new year. He diagnosed Paroxysmal AF which I have since looked up and can definately say the symptoms are the same.
He requested full bloods and an ECG which I had this morning. ECG ok. Phew. Now awaiting blood results.
Must say I am a bit scared as both my Dad and his Mum died of heart problems. Have an appointment on Friday to discuss results.

No question, just an update.

Thanks

Will do Sqad. Thanks
Oh Icey, you are going through it at the moment, well it sounds as though you are getting all the test needed and then at least as Sqad says they can control it.

Mamya♥
Well done for going back to your own docs instead of waiting for the next appointment.

Thanks Mamya. I feel like a hyperchondriac sometimes. Must be my age.

Your right Johne1892- I went back because I know my doctor is thorough and he knows me well! (Not sure if thats a good thing!)
I wish you well icey pet ;-)
you will probably have a 24 hour ecg soon and if that doesn't pick up anything a longer version called an R test... I'vew had three of them and it was like a miracle while i was connected to the machines didn't have a single attack... normally 3 or 4 a day I do the opposite... seem to stop then very slow and thumping.. .. still anything in that area is very unnerving... you have my best wishes...hope they get it sorted soon
Question Author
Thank you Bobbisox and Rowanwitch- Doc did mention about a 24 ecg, but as I said to him like you Rowan I probably won't have an attack. That's the problem with this one, never know when it will strike.
Just wishing you all the best icy!!
