Life began elsewhere...a third way?

Does this report by an eminent scientist defunct the idea that life was created on Earth upsetting both religious and Darwinism concepts? For instance whole DNA sequences have been found in meteorites could mean that life started elsewere.

That is what I am saying. No "whole DNA sequences" originating from anything but life on Earth have been found in meteorites. Those that are found got there through contamination. Besides nothing in the article applied to any DNA find.

The find is not of bacteria. It is of a mineral structure that one researcher has decided has a biological origin.

The article's main thrust of the "evidence" that life originated elsewhere is the idea that the early Earth was to hostile to life. They describe the atmosphere and surface conditions. No scientist of any repute would make such a ridiculous suggestion since the only serious contenders for the origin of life indicate it formed in undersea hydrothermal vents unaffected by surface conditions.

rov1100, I am puzzled as to why you think that this report, even if true, upsets Darwinism.
Darwinian evolution explains how complex life emerged automatically and inevitably from primitive life, regardless of whether that primitive life formed on earth or came from elsewhere.

makes no difference to natural selection if life was dropped off by a passing comet or asteriod. The primordial soup idea is not accepted as fact only a theory. Life certainly exists elsewhere so it's not a gimmee it started here. It won't effect darwinism and the god squad mob are totally discredited anyway.
