pull back cars

does anyone have sketches or digrams to show how pull back toy cars work? i have looked all over the web and cant seem to find any source on the net to help. any help is welcome.

Its basically clockwork.  When you pull the car back, one axle winds up (tightens) a spring, via some gearing, like turning the key in a clockwork mechanism.  When you let go, the spring releases the energy back to the axle as it unwinds and the car is propelled.

I think there may be some sort of clutch and flywheel mechanism too but I'm not sure.

oh thanks very much, i understand it now i just have turn that into images. i cannot believe there isnt a site on this earth that can show how the mechanism works, or at least i cant find one :(

 Try this site .  It doesn't have the best diagrams, but it might help.
