When it says "Optical Drive Blu-Ray Playback" does that mean you can't record DVD/RW on a Laptop. Thanks for any replies.

Do you really think they are going to make a drive that WONT work with CDs or DVDs?

Of course it can.

Some drives .. like some Asus models offer DVD/CD/R/RW re/writing and Blu Ray playback .. but not Blu Ray writing. You need to check the drive supplied.

Blu Ray writing adds quite a bit to drive cost.

Thanks Albags, does that mean if DVD Writing or Reading is not specified you can't make DVD's?

I wish I was as clever as you VHG!!,as you obviously know everything you would know I was asking about Copying and Recording onto DVD's,but there you go!! I would appreciate it if you did not answer any more of my Posts, if that is your attitude.
Hi ...
I know where you are coming from here .. The description is misleading.
I would guess that if it reads Blu Ray, and specifically DOES NOT mention recording DVD or CD's, then it is just a player (ROM) for all formats.

Only way is to check the drive model included .. or ask.
