Hi i would be greatfull if anyone could help me!!

Ive got 2 staffies, 1 is male and the other a bitch. The male is the father and aged 2 years, while the bitch(daughter) is 6 months, Recently in the past 2 weeks they have had 3 fights which are getting more serious every time! Now we are worried that this is getting out of control,i would hate to think that 1 day one will kill the other. Some people have told us as the bitch may be getting near her season she is getting more aggressive as the male has been castrated a few months back, others have told us to egt rid of the bitch, which i would not like to do, but if have to will do just to make sure both have happy lives. would anyone be able to help us out with any advice please, would be very greatfull.
Until this point i must state that the male has not shown any aggression in his years, nor has the bitch even though she only 6 months old, they always used to sleep together and all things that dogs do, The bitch surley knows her place as she lets the male eat first,
Before you ask both are well trained ( well they are all people that see them say).. When they go on walks on or off the leads they never attack or any problams to other dogs,!!! PLEASE HELP!!

I didn't know.

bigeye, I am not a troll, I assure you, probably been here a lot longer than you have!......But ljwkd is talking about his dogs fighting!............would you want kids in that house?...............come on now!........................
What evidence is there that one of the dogs will bite a child?
-- answer removed --
There's no evidence that he has either dogs or children, or even a house, just a computer.
Welch,
they way I read your answers is 'your dogs are fighting and will bite your child'. That is not a considered opinion.
A considered opinion would be 'seek professional help (my own suggestion is a behaviorist) and be extra vigilant when the dogs are in the presence of your children'.
Answering questions on a website does not qualify you for anything even if you mean well.
glad he's suspended, but what about him having those two fighting dogs in the same house as children....Makes my blood run cold!......will it be News headlines in the morning!................Dog savages a child!...................Oh!..........this person is so stupid!!............no wonder children get savaged by dogs!.............
i suspect this person is a troll and the dogs don't exist
You are suspended bigeye, so no point in responding to your post, all I will say is, please keep your children safe!.................
Errrrm, where does it say there are children in the house? I agree that one should be rehomed (if this is a genuine question) but after reading the op a few times I can't see where children are mentioned.
Maybe its my pragmatic nature. I would try to resolve the issue before considering rehoming. There must be hundreds of thousands of households with more than 1 dog and young children. People just need to be aware of the risks and act accordingly

Daffy, think he did mention kids in his posts somewhere!.....
Thanks pinki, I didn't read the whole thread so I missed the second post.
Thanks pinki!..............I knew that children were mentioned!...........that's why I was so cross!....................
Must be a troll, don't think any further of it, it's a wind-up.
Probably the same troll as the one with the fighting hamsters etc. as none of them have a picture and they all disappear quickly. However, for those who criticise my advice to get rid of one, I am afraid I stick with this advice, as Staffies do tend to remain aggressive if they show any tendency,,and its not in their nature to back down.
Although most would not dream of biting a child (they are called the 'nanny' dog for their renowned love of children) anyone who has witnessed a dog fight of any description will tell you that the last thing on their mind is worrying about biting any human who is trying to stop them fighting or getting in their way. A child in this situation could easily get badly hurt or worse and I would be very worried if they were
my children or dogs, as any dog that hurts a child whether deliberately or not will most likely end up being put down.
Hi,I have 3 Staffys they are clicker trained and are experts at tricks,as for the narrow minded people who say they will turn on the children because they are squabbling with each other, you need a reality check!!Staffys are the number one dog to have if you have children, look into the history of these dogs who where often left to babysit ones children while miners went of to the pits......
As for the two dogs fighting,Im afraid that getting your male fixed has confuse the little bitch into who is top dog, your males scent will of changed to her and she is trying to be top dog!!he is trying to put her in her place, but sounds like she is not being submissive..this is where you need to step in before they fight and let them know YOU are the top dog and will not tolerate fighting....this can be done with a simlpe squirt of water from a spray bottle and a command of NO!!also you should always put the males food down before hers..and he should always come first in everything you do with them.she will then get the message she is the botterm of the pack.....sounds harsh but that is the world of the dog..there is also a collar spray collar you can buy, they are remote controlled and they spray out lemon air....they are a fantatic tool to have but can be quite expensive and will correct any unwanted behaviour....good luck and never give up this is just minor compared to alot of dogs out there......A true breed staffy will never attack children,,,all the attacks out there are not Staffys but pit bulls who the owners pretend they are staffys as they are a band dog over here....everyone knows that right?!! :)
