Hello. In which topic should I put a question about a washing machine repair please? I've entered 'washing machine repair' in the search box for this site and it shows me lots of questions about washing machine repairs, but doesn't tell me what topic they are listed under.

I'm really not sure. If I put it in the wrong topic I'll be told off!
if you're on here anyway ask the question maybe someone can help x
Put it in one topic, copy the URL of the posted thread.

Put it in another topic, posting that original URL along with the question, explaining that you weren't sure where to post it.

I'm sure nobody could object to that.

Oh thank you for your answers. Well, pizza, my washing machine handle snapped off. I ordered a new one and with help from friends got it fixed on properly. Machine seemed to be fully repaired. I did a load of washing. It was fine. I then tried to do another load. The light came on but nothing happened. I gave up and unplugged the washing machine only to find one of the prongs of the plug was burnt. It was one of the lower two, not the one on top. The plug is a moulded one. I'm now not sure what is wrong with the machine. People have spoken about an interlock device which the door lock clicks when the door is shut. This then tells the machine it is safe for the washing cycle to start. I can't see or get at my interlock device. I've been watching lots of 'how to' videos online, but don't think I'm up to dismantling the machine. I'm asking, does anyone know what is wrong with my machine. The call out fee would probably be astronomical and I can't find a local repair person. Any advice would be gratefully received.

You are a misery mick t.
and you are a tad naive AYG ;0)

only kidding Aryom.
Once you've found a question via the search box you can open the thread; then if you look in the topics section at the left hand side of the screen you will see that the relevant grey topic/subtopic has a darker shading.
Anyway, I suggest How It Works is a good starting point, or Home and Garden.
Good luck.
You'll get 'generic' help with the info given.

Make & Model # of appliance might get you answers which will be specific to your machine.
I'd stick it in Electronics (within technology). There's some who go in there just to help.
Definitely blown Fuse in the Plug and if prongs look burnt might be a more serious problem. Change the 13A Fuse and try it again, if it blows then there is a short somewhere.
