Disney are very clever with their flims on video and DVD.

They release a film on video (as was) or DVD, and then sell it for a year or so, and then STOP making the Videos / DVDs for that film and put it back in the vault.

They then release it 3 or 4 years later again, and so the cycle continues.

So this means it makes their films have a rarity value as if you dont buy it when it is out you either have to pay at lot for it, or wait till it comes out again next time on DVD.

This is why it is a good idea to grab a Disney film when it is out or you may have to wait a while to buy it again.
Probably because of the amount of extra features.

Cheeky buggers aren't they. I Didnt pay a huge amount more than that to go and see the live show in London last year. Can't really justify that much so will just have to hold out until I can find a cheaper copy.
Ebay: Buy it now: £9.99 plus 0.85p.Postage.
I realised this back in the 90's when I was trying to get hold of The Little Mermaid. They re-released it 7 years after the original release.
I bought the 5 disc on Ebay a few years back and that cost me £89! It was brand new.

For some reason this one has always been expensive compared to most.
They're releasing it this autumn, at least I hope so, Wikipedia say it is due for release 'Fall 2011' so may be just in America. I'm waiting until then to get it; so excited!!
I've been waiting on Cinderella coming out the vault for ages! I did manage to get The Lion King when it came out. I just get them as soon as they are released now :)

I was never a big fan of it when I was wee.. sometimes I just have an urge to watch a certain film lol. I did have it on video but my mum had chucked it :|
you can get in to see the stage show for that!

I'd recommend it :o)
Yeah, Cinderella was one of the one we didn't have when I was little so am not so attached to that one, Lion king is my favourite, along with Beauty and the Beast which I was super excited to get when it came out not long back! It's not the same sir.prize, want to own the DVDs!
The Lion King is my favourite.. I just watched it last week lol. The Little Mermaid is a close second :)

Sorry, have missed all the answers!

Sara - I took my bf to see the stage show last year for his birthday (yes, he's an adult ;o) ). It was absolutely fantastic which is why I wanted to get my hands on the DVD.

Thanks for the links but I'm not really interested in watching it online. I want to own a copy of the DVD.

I don't use Ebay so I'll just keep waiting for it to come down in price. The Little Mermaid is a fave of mine too! I very sadly know all the songs by heart and take pleasure in torturing everyone else by singing them very loudly.
This is where keeping my old video player comes in handy,, I browse round charity shops and video's in there are 3 for £1, and for £2 I came away with 6 video's a few weeks back, The Lion King & Jungle Book being 2 of tham.
