Was this teacher within her rights to spray chemical air fresheners at Asian kids who "smelled of curry"?

Should she have been banned from teaching, or perhaps just supplied with scented candles for her classroom?

/// This has nothing to do with personal hygiene.///

Er? 'Smells transpiring from the body', if is nothing to do with personal hygiene, then perhaps you would care to elaborate?

Yes a good point that makes perfect sense.

But don't you also think that if that was the problem, a spray with a good antiperspirant body spray along with an oral mouth wash.
might help
No AOG...they are little children.

Plus it's very unlikely their parents could smell it.

Or it could be on their clothes...like a smoker...or the smell of chip fat.

ummmm

/// Or it could be on their clothes...like a smoker...or the smell of chip fat. ///

Precisely, then shouldn't they wear fresh clean cloths before they go out to school?

Regarding the simulative to the smoker, and how many are prepared to tolerate their smells?

It may surprise you but there are many who cannot tolerate the smell of curries or garlic, and that is not racist, it's a matter of personal dislikes.

Takes all sorts to make a world.

You have to wonder why someone didnt have a word with this woman before it got to this stage. It is almost as if the teaching assistants wer setting her for a fall.

I suspect this woman is not a particularly nice person and is probably best out of teaching though.
AOG - What did they have for breakfast after they got dressed? Might not have been cereal you know..!
she went about it the wrong way but i agree the smell is terrible when in close contact
I work in primary education, but have rarely noticed cooking/food odours. Last time I did, it was me after a curry the night before (how embarrassing!). However, I do wish that someone would invent filtration pants (and make them compulsory for all children) that would make it safe to walk into a class without being felled by the noxious stench of stale wind.
I was speeking to a Barber I used years ago ,and ask him if he smelt his customers
as there were engineers smelling of all sorts of oils Fishermen straight off the boats Turners reeking of cutting oil and men out of the Wood yards
and he said no never gave it a thought
Funny old world
