I have a very elderly relative who suffers from dementia and getting her used to even a new handset will be difficult enough without having to add a digital receiver to the mix!

Can anybody recommend a simple digital tv, very basic, as basic as on/off switch with volume controls and channel selector?

I have in the past just opened up remotes and deactivated (reversibly I might add) certain keys so that elderly or kids could not screw up the settings!
Most sony handsets have big buttons for vol and channel and so stand out in this respect.

I would advise just getting a freeview box for her existing TV, she can select channels by going up and down and doesn't have to use the menus. It will be cheaper as well.
probably best to get a new digital television rather than add a digital receiver box that she will need a second handset for. Once tuned in it will work just like any other television, switch on and chose the channel, only difference there will be more channels to chose from.
How old do you have to be before your classed as elderly?
