Somebody has to pay me £8. They don't have Paypal. If they were to send me the equivalent in dollars could I pay it into the bank? Anyone know how an international money order works? What are the options. I'm a bit annoyed as when they asked could the pay cash a few days ago, I said yes so long as it was sterling. Grrrrrrrrr

You may get charged a fee for converting it back to sterling and for £8 I wouldn't bother. Can't they just sign up to Paypal or get a Western Union transfer or similar?

They have said they'll get whatever suits me but I don't know how any of the other overseas payments work. I'll be grateful for advice. You suggest western Union transfer - would that cost me money. Would someone in America not be able to get £8 sterling from somewhere?
The simplest way to get your money would be to provide the other person with this link, so that they can use PayPal:

Alternatively, get them to send you US$15 (in notes, not coins) by snail mail and then exchange it at your local post office. (You should get £8 out of the exchange).
