I've automatically got a place in the new sixth form college, even if i fail they'll put me on AS courses again (hopefully it won't come to that).

But i was looking at they're entry requirements for year 11s and if they want to get in, it seems as if doesn't matter if they got 4 A*s, in the four subjects they want to do if they failed the rest becuse each grade is given a numerical value, and you have to work out your mean grade and if you don't get an average of middle B, they have to have an extra interview with you and if you're average is less than a C you have to have the extra interview and some kind of entrance exam.

Have you ever known this, non of the two sixth forms I applied to (one of which is kinda the same 6th form as this one, did this)

Sounds reasonable to me - you should be able to demonstrate a good all-round education as well as expertise in your specialities.

I supose so mike especially considering there's quite a lot of overlap between subjects so if you don't have a basic understanding of physics you'd find chemistry harder and if you're not very good at chemistry, there's some parts of biology you'd find hard aswell.
you mean year 12?

my daughter is in 6th form at school, and they awarded points for each GCSE result.

the local colleges' entry requirements are lower than the school's entry requirements.

Sara i'm in sixth form at two high schools (some people have to goto a third aswell) but because the middle school are closing, there won't be room for us, so the sixth form is moving to a new building so i'll finish my ASes at the high schools but'll have to go to the new sixth form college next september. But they've guaranteed that we'll be able to do the A2s properly ie the same specification aslong as we get good enough grades. But when i applied in year 11 I didn't have to work out my average grade.
my daughter's 6th form covers 3 schools, but she only attends 2.

are you worried that you won't get in?
When I did my O and A levels, in the days when Noah was an apprentice shipwright, grades were given only for A levels; O levels were simply marked pass or fail, so to this day I can't tell you how good my marks were.

Do they take GCSE English grades into account?

I'll have to say yes factor, but i'm expecting some kind of sarky remark, even though I got 2 Bs, one in literature, one in language . . . .
