Prevention and treatment for hair

I have been going to the gym, sauna, steam room and swimming pool for 2 weeks now and my hair is slowly turning into straw. Any ideas of good products to prevent and treat hair regularly exposed to chlorine, heat, etc?

a good conditioner straight after swinning but most of all get it cut regularly

Yes, Paul Smith shampoo number 1 or original. It's the one I used when I was doing something similar and it's very good. I'm currently using pantene clarifying shampoo with ice shine condition and both are also good.

you can prevent it by not going to sauna steam room and swimming pool and gym.

try using a shower cap, ive seen a product by No7 at boots, its no7 hair protecting spritz and for £6 its great, some great reviews on net
Also, boots do a sun and swim shampoo and intensive conditioner which is made for problems like the ones ur having
no dont use a clarifying shampoo it will strip your hair even more

What is a clarifying shampoo?

I use a good L'Oreal spray in product specifically for 'before sun/swim' on holiday pre-beach but it will work equally well in this situation.

The Boots own-brand products especially for swimmers are all really good, even protected my hair when I snorkelled every day for a fortnight :)

puzzled, clarifying shampoo leaves hair clear of all residue.

ruthandsam, you need a heavy creamy deep conditioner; apply conditoner before you go in sauna or sleep with conditioner on your hair (head covered with polythene cap).

know they are not the most comfortable things but the swimmers at my gym at lunch time do wear caps!

Thanks guys - I went out and bought Boots' Sun, Swim and Gym shampoo, conditioner and treatment mask. So far, so good. Will let you know how I get on.
