Hi there. For the last 7-8 months I have had a bump in the centre of my back about the size of a penny that is red, slightly raised and constantly itchy. It's not dry or cracked and doesn't bleed but I am a bit worried about it as I did have a lot of sunbeds when I was younger. I have tried applying creams such as E45 and Sudocream but not regularly as it's hard to reach being about 2 inches below my shoulder blades. They haven't made any difference.

It's more annoying than anything but should I get it checked out?

By the way I'm 36 if that has any bearing.
Was the lump smaller? Has it gotten bigger? Do you think it's growing?
er yes get it checked out, if you are not sure you should always go to docs, better to be safe than sorry. My my mate who's a hairdressers noticed some funny looking mole on my neck, she told me to go to docs. He just said I must have scratched it and that why it was looking like that and all was ok, but he wasnt annoyed that I had wased his time and said he was glad I had it checked.

Society, no haven't noticed any change in size. But then it is in the most inaccessible place!

4get, no harm in checking I suppose.
My neighbour had similar and it turned out to be a black head. Hers was getting bigger with time.

^^^ LOL. I would be sooo embarrassed if it turned out to be a blackhead! Now I'm having second thoughts about getting it looked at!
Don't be silly. :-) Get it looked at soon. It could be anything, and nothing.
My husband had what sounds like exactly the same thing. The doctor said it looked harmless but to keep an eye on it. I took a photo for comparison purposes but it never changed. Then it disappeared as suddenly as it came.

Well I once had a really sore lump in my ladies area and went to the GU clinic. Turned out to be just a spot, v embarrassing! I'll get it checked just in case.

Thanks all.
I have had a very similar type of bump on my back. I got it check out with the GP who referred me to a dermatologist. It was just a cyst but because it was inaccessible to me, he removed it quickly with no after effects. Oh, I also had a lot of sunbeds when I was younger as well.

All the best to you!
