Any advice would b so welcome!
My husband had an argument outside a pub with a work collegue, the other guy took a swing at him & missed but fell & cut his head on the pub door! They exchanged some more words then my husband left! Next thing we know 4 officers are on our door arresting him for ABH! They interviewed him the next day saying the victim had accused him of attacking him causing the injury on his head plus saying my husband kicked & punched him around the head & body and stamping on his face. To make matters worse the victim had 2 friends who witnessed what really happened to back him in his lies. The witnesses have handed in their own handwritten statements confirming everything the victim has said! Because my husband knows they are lying he offered his boots freely for testing. He was also examined in the station & had no blood on him or any bruising or markings to his own hand. The victim himself still hasn't made a signed statement & we r nearly 9 weeks after the event!!!! The police say with the victim, the 2 witnesses and his cut head that's enough to take to the CPS. My husband asked what the CPS would do & the policeman said they probably would charge!! I'm so gutted for my husband because he's really not done what they r accusing him off!!!!!
What do you think????

I should also say my husbands boots were steal toe capped & the police haven't bothered testing them. There was no CCTV either. They are basically going on witness statements & the cut head alone
Thanxs
Tell him to plead not guilty, then use the lack of any bl00d skin etc on Boots to demonstrate the witnesses are lying.
when did the incident occur - would suggest you hubby starts to build case for his defence if CPS want to take it to court. Don't know how he can get his boot's bagged as evidence now? Can he get it confirmed that he offered officers his boots as evidence? Did Pub have any cctv or is any operational in the area. Maybe get 1/2 hours free advice from a solicitor - if it's available in your area. Other ABers may shoot my advice down in flames (those with more knowledge and qualifications in this scenario) - but is there a way you can contest charge and nip it in the bud?
no other witnesses?
sorry for my last reply - made me fell enraged on behalf of innocent party you have already established to late to test boots and no cctv - would still go with asking a solicitor in criminal law for some advice though

The police have had my husbands boots since the night it happened he offered them freely & they took them but they said they will only test them if the CPS charge!!!
No CCTV at all unfortunately !

Also the so called victim made a verbal summary of the so called events to my husbands work as he is their supervisor. My husband has been dismissed as work belive the witnesses & the victim against my husband!! We have an employment lawyer dealing with that now! Can't belive the police don't have to match the statements to the injuries???? It just doesn't ring true because the victim doesn't have any kick or punch marks on his body!!!!!
