Hi,
Can anyone recommend a reliable hair dye (base 5/mid brown shade) which successfully covers grey hair AND lasts more than 2 weeks?
I have tried the Root Touch Up and Excel 10 which both are lovely to use and great shades BUT both only last two weeks before fading then finally washing out. I really need advice as it is so tiresome having to colour my hair every other weekend (hate looking grey as I have gone prematurely grey and it is just so depressing.)
Thanks in advance girls.

most permanent dyes will successfully colour your grey hair but you MUST use a shampoo for coloured hair. they're the same price as most shampoos.

many regular shampoos strip the colour away.
You definitely need a permanent one. I use L'oreal Excellence, it needs to be on for at least 40 mins but never fades. Only the reqrowth needs redoing.
superdrug hairdyes are really good.. thats what i use on my mums hair and shes got plenty greys!! haha
Polycolour works for me every time, only costs about £2 and lasts about 6 weeks. I buy it in Wilkinsons. Natural brown does what is says!!!

I bought the new one from John Freida the foam one. I have dyed my hair for the past 45 years but was I impressed with this. It`s expensive at £9.99 but easy to put on and the grey and my other 6 or 7 colours all blended in. Mrs Treetops.
