How do you wipe a re-writable cd/dvd

I was just wondering if anyone knew how to do it or if anyone knows a program that does it for you?

If you explore the disc (at least in XP) there is an option on the left to erase it. Be aware that this won't necessarily delete sensitive data completely.

 If your running XP, click start, my computer, right click on the drive letter for your CD, then click format.
