I hope I'm wrong but you may find the payment goes out and you get charges for being overdrawn
Oh dear. They do appear to be a properly regulated company according to their website - but you don't know that the chap was from there... at all. He may be and it may be OK, but you should never give any details to someone who rings you out of the blue, it could be anyone. Go tell your bank on Monday, or if you have on-line banking, see if there is any way that you can block the transaction before then. I would be suspicious however of any loan company that asks you to pay anything upfront - what for? - I have had several loans over the years and never had to pay anything to anyone until the first due date after the money's in my account.
I don't know anything about them, but it seems to me that like some other firms they are not a Finance company per se, but brokers. All applications are accepted. They take a fee upfront and then try to find someone who will finance the loan, usually at high rates of interest and with a guarantor who has to provide evidence of his financial status. Not to be recommended.
Make sure you get the bank to cancel your card since you've given them your details. If not they may carry on taking payments whenever they like.
These companies do not do loans they prey on those that have bad credit ratings and con them out of "fees" for arranging potential loans. You'll probably find that you had been accepted as a client not accepted for a loan. All they do is look around the market and then claim that they couldn;t find you a loan because of bad credit. Then you know that already because the only reason to consider an outfit like this is if no mainstream lender will be forthcomming. Yes it's basically a con to prey on those with dodgy credit ratings.
Sav, I hoped you've contacted your bank immediately after you've realsed your error in judgment.
i too have fallen victim to these f>#@ing scumbags. i have wrote to watchdog, been to the bank who said that they cant actually do anything because of my own stupidity so to speak. the fact that i haven't actually received a loan means there is a chance of getting my money back but it's going to be a long winded process but im not going to let that stop me. these should be shut down asap and the owners brought to justice for their deceitful dealings i just wish i could get my hands on one of them!! they just prey on the vulnerable, tell you what you want to here then rob you blind in some cases they took the 'brokers fee' on more than 1 occasion i havent been as unlucky as that and i am only £59 down but being a single lad living on my own and not earning the best money means i really cant allow this to happen!! good luck
