How do commercial radio stations recruit so many DJs with exactly the same voice?  I'm sure it's just one guy calling himself different names throughout the day.

They all go to DJ school where they are all taught to be alike to fulfill the requirements of local radio. So you end up with lots of bland dj's with no personality or style of their own. The fact that Capital radio own virtually every "Independent" station across the UK means the uniformity is tedious.
They're bred on a farm just outside Milton Keynes and any runts are given free to local hospital radio stations........
It's all part of the conformity of ILR - in fact they could dispense with the DJ's altogether, and just play the same ten records on rotation, and put the ads in - surprised they haven't done it before now.

It's true, TCL, and some of the conditions of these DJ-farms are disgusting. they are kept in bare studios with just the latest ten records from the major record labels that they are forced to play at regular intervals.

They have very little human contact, often just some screeching, over-excited member of the public on the other end of the telephone. Deprived of real human contact, they often exhibit signs of dementia, causing them to babble incessantly to themselves.

The characteristics for which they are bred, such as inane smiles, false laughs and a permanent excitement in their voices, often leads to horrible secondary deformities such as squinty eyes and thus an inability to see the real world. Many have patronising tempraments.

If you want to stamp out this cruel practice, please write to your MP or join the Stop DJ-Farming Now! campaign. You may also wish to consider giving a home to a rescue DJ (only those considered suitable for family homes are put up for re-homing - all are fully housetrained.) or why not buy a gift voucher for our 'Adopt-a-DJ' scheme?

Remember, every little helps. Thank you.

Are there any 'Free Range DJ's' out there?
