Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

Only word I can find that fits is LOOPHOLE - but what is the literary explanation or wordplay?

'Loophole' is the title of a science fiction story by Arthur C Clarke.
I haven't read it, but perhaps it was something like a black hole, attracting stars to their doom?

I looked up the Arthur C Clarke story but it didn't seem to fit.

Just a suggestion but TRICHOME - Star

I'm 99.999% sure that my letters are correct, so can't be TRICHOME. The first 'O' comes from EDGEWORTH (Value on margin of Irish writer). The 'P' comes from TEACUP (Location of storm? or sleepy creature (The Dormouse in Alice). Thanks anyway Kayakima.

Thanks for the suggestion. You may be right - I had TEACUP for the across clue which could possibly be TEAPOT, which would allow for FOOTNOTE.

I NO LONGER HAVE ACCESS TO PUZZLE OR TO THE ANSWER THERETO THAT WAS PUBLISHED A FEW WEEKS LATER. TEAPOT WORKS AS WELL AS TEACUP, AS I RECALL, AND MAKES "FOOTNOTE" ALL THE LIKELIER.
