need help again girls, redcrx, B00, anyone; it's all feeling rather familiar
Hi, am crying as i write this.
for people that don't know, my daughter was stillborn in August of this year owing to IUGR and placental insufficiency. Also, although we declined a PM, blood and placental samples taken at the time revealed a genetic chromosomal abnormality for her and for BOTH me and my husband (his and mine both on different chromosomes). The obstrtrician did not think this is why she died because she had the same balanced inversion of my husband who is alive and well.
Anyway our plan was to have my (last) joint (knee this time) replacement done in January, then perhaps have some IVF to try and get pregnant again, as we would probably need pre-implantation diagnosis to make sure the embryo didn't have a fatal chromosome problem. The gp asked me in the meantime to keep an eye on my cycle as my periods have been usually 7 weeks apart sine i gave birth. I have been doing ovulation sticks everyday, with no positive result in this cycle so far.
(sorry it's long) So, if my cycle was a normal 28 day one i would be a couple of days late now, so because i am due to have an xray pre my surgery on friday i did a pg test yesterday, and to my surprise it was positive. What my question really is, is there any chance of the pregnancy hormone still being arounbd in my body from giving birth in August? Could this be a false positive, and how likely is that? how reliable are the clearblue digi tests anyway?
I cant understand how i am pg if i am. This is the first month not using contraception, and i have not have a positive ovulation test this month

I've cancelled peoples surgery the night before due to weather (docs not going to get in), a sick doc and several time because of a bed crisis due to a high number of in-patients in A&E... Happy to offer you any of those excuses :c)

thanks for that CD - that must be a crappy job to phone people and tell them their long-awaited operation is going to be even more long-awaited! I need something a bit more permanent than backlog in A and E though it is a good one. Hopefully this weather will help - lots of people falling over and having to have orthopaedic ops :)

The A&E thing will work as if they cancel you on the day of your surgery then they have 28 days to book you back in BUT if they do it the night before, they're under no such obligation. Therefore, if you're cancelled the day before your surgery and if your consultant has a paticularly long waiting list, then it's perfectly feasible that it could be months before you have your surgery as he's under no obligation to fit you in other than courtesy. Orthopaedics (is that who it is?) seem to have long waiting lists in my rather limited (so far!) experience.
