I do not live in a rural area and surrounded by fields, I have 3 runner ducks and 7 bantams, Last night there was a fox sat on my doorstep, I went outside and it walked straight up to me, We phoned tiggywinkles but they wouldnt do anything as they assumed it was not injured, I am terrified to let my ducks and chickens out as they are free range, several houses up my road have chickens as well, if i let them out do you think foxy will come back,

You really should find a way to fox proof the ducks and chickens - I am very surprised the fox hasn't had them already, especially during this hard winter.

My garden is surrounded by six foot fences, and i am at home most of the time, they are always put away around 3 ish in the afternoon at the moment as it gets dark quickly, I just wanted to know what is the likely hood of a fox attack during the day.
many thanks
if it is hungry it will....urban foxes are becoming increasingly active by day
If the fox is hungry, or is a female with young it will attack whether it is day or night.
yum yum dinner !!!!
foxes are very lithe and healthy ones can jump 6ft (though not I think very much higher). So yes, I suspect the birds are at risk.We extended our fences by putting trellis along the top of them, which mostly seems to work, though they're a bit wobbly and a fit and determined fox may succeed in knocking them loose.

I think its ill, I have lived here 13 years and have never seen one, not even in the fields, I couldnt see what condition it was in but kate my daughter said later it had a lot of fur missing, I will see if it comes back later but it is not scared at all.
urban foxes are very bold. But they do often get mangy.
nothing a few ducks couldn't fix !!
get a few geese ......a big stroppy gander should sort it
I removed a dead fox from the road a couple of days ago - a huge dog fox with a very full coat in magnificent condition. Shame, but at least the local chickens and ducks are safer.
