A 50 year old relative of mine who lives 300 miles from London would love to visit London by train but needs someone to guide him as he is Albino. Are there any societies that can help him?

has your relative or his carer contacted the RNIB?

I don't understand the albino reference. Does this mean he needs to be completely covered to avoid sunlight? I'm not sure why that means he needs a guide

Hi Factor30, He is partially blind, hence needing a guide.
Okay, thanks. -Are all/most albinos blind then?
has your relative or his carer contacted the RNIB?

Factor30 - To my limited knowledge I'd say yes. Their eyes tend to look a little pinkish thus impeding their sight.

Hi Sara3, I rarely get in touch with my second cousin but I do know he lives independantly in a supervised complex. He manages to get to his 89 yr old mother's house on his own which is a short bus ride away but I fear London is too far for him to travel solo. I doubt that he has thought to ask RNIB as his speech is difficult to decipher. I shall suggest to him that I contact RNIB if he doesn't mind! We only chat at Christmas time!! Thanks for your suggestions.
maybe his housing warden might be able to suggest something, or his GP.
If Woodelf spots this thread he might have some suggestions. He is blind and, I believe, worked for RNIB at their London HQ.

However, for assistance around London, the RLSB might prove to be a better bet:
