What is the point of crane flies all they seem to do is ineffectually fly around. Not much meat on them for spiders..but my cat likes eating them.

Hi Coobeastie, I feel the same way, plus I dislike the horrible little things, they remind me of spiders with wings, my cats love them, not that they get much nourishment from eating them but at least they keep them away from me!.......  :-)

P.S. Great name you have got ( Like It )  :-)

The spiders in my house seem to enjoy them too!
Their point is that they shag, lay eggs on grass stems and produce plenty more crane flies next year after stuffing themselves as leather jackets. And so natural selection rolls on.
my cats and dog love snacking on them too!!
my dog loves them too,we have traineed him to "get" the low flying ones, how come seem to more about this year..
Any idea why they are Daddy Long Legs- not any other family member?

Did you know that Daddy Long Legs is the most animal in Britain?

only problem is their fangs are'nt sharp enough to penetrate human skin!

Lucky us.

oops forgot poisonous

Actually the thing about daddy long legs is a myth.

They are not poisonous

The ones we get are not the spiders to which the poison tag is attached.
