Being sold by garge car with a V5 not V5C
I went to the garge to buy a car and they showed me who owned the car on a V5 form.
Should I be concerned? The V5C which I know was isssed by talking to the DVLA could be being used for all kinds of crimminal activities. Do make a huge fuss and refuse to buy the car without a V5C form ?

There's a possibility that there are two vehicles using the same registration number. The one you're considering buying might be the legitimate one but, equally, it could be the 'ringer'. (Check the VIN VERY carefully!!!).

It could also be a simple error by the person who sold the car to the garage. e.g. the previous owner might have died and the beneficiary of his estate (who doesn't drive and therefore knows nothing about V5 or V5C forms) might have only found the old document among the deceased person's papers.
