Culminates at 07:40, I believe, with a potentially red moon ( no baboon jokes please, this is an important celestial occurrence)

don't understand the baboon reference -please give full explanation
Total cloud cover here. It got noticably darker, but it's just grey. :-(

Gutted.

Red bottom( moon). Someone (Naz?) was bound to mention it.
I WAS watching it. When I went into the shop it was visible. Now it's gone. (The FH says that's what happens with an eclipse but it was only half gone!)
Thankfully this place is now almost completely devoid of baboons and gibbons. ;-)
lol ^^ BM's broken the Moon ... I'm telling.
Question Author
It won't be totally 'gone' until 7:40 when the earths shadow will totally obscure the suns reflected light
Question Author
I think gibbons are quite funky.
lol, it's moved (or we have). Because it's lower in the sky now, I can't see it above the houses and have had to walk round the block. Another 10 minutes and I will have to walk up to the park and its too cold for that!!!
I thought the sky was just clearing a little as I could see a star shining, but now realise some numbnut up on the hill behind me has left an outside light on all night.
Question Author
Tut, you don't get the same quality of people living on hills these days.
Very eerie light here now.

Well, it went pink. The vicar has just walked past with his one eyed dog, so all's well.
Had a it of a limited view after 7.10 as it started to disappear behind the neighbours trees. Got a few good pics, though.
I went out to watch it about 7.30 here just before I started work. Took a couple of pics. It was a funny colour but with the snowy trees lighted up in the foreground, it looked lovely
Too cloudy round my way so I couldn't. Shame really!
