Times like this you wish you had a back up name:(
Believe me I have googled....

For the last week I have had a bleeding bum hole -cant be anymore direct.,
Symptoms -fresh blood when duty is being done- each time,
really realy sore at same site,
no obvious sign of haemorroids (had them when I had children),
lower R side tummy ache,
possible fissure I suspect.

Now im off abroad on Saturday so would like to know what food I should avoid to enable it to heal as it is a bit debilitating at the moment.
Anyone else had the same symptoms and what would you suggest given the timescale I should do?
Thanks for any genuine replies .....:)

I can only suggest eat plenty of fruit and vegetables to avoid straining and making
yourself more sore.
Also use medicated wipes as opposed to loo roll.
You've been bleeding for a week and haven't thought to go the Docs?

Thanks cupid -ive been avoiding them as they normally get me going pretty quick.Maybe a good idea though as its a relatively smooth passage (and why so i feel like salla at the moment lol)
Reluctant to take Immodium - altho I normally do when travelling -might have to resort to that though -makes me awfully constipated though which would be a vicious circle...
Bit late now Dris...with 3 days to go.

Get some Proctosedyl ointment to take on holiday and then get this sorted out when you return.

Almost certainly a fissure in ano.
Bleeding bum - haemorroids. (straining to hard when pooing) Get some haemorroid cream. Blood in poo more serious.
What I particularly like about the word anus is that as a second declension Latin noun it means ring or 'fundament' whereas as a fourth declension noun it means old woman. Sorry to hijack the thread Dris, you have my sympathy as a former sufferer.

No I didnt even think snags as I was like that after I had the kids, but it was piles and was content with that, but when I googled it was like I had an anal fissure and now I have the low tummy ache im getting a wee bit concerned.Im usually really careful with my health thus throwing myself open after hours on here.
I always use medicated wipes cupid -front to back the lot.

Aw thanks everyone -i have been ever so worried even tho I dont appear to have been.No-one like to open the can of worms -to coin a phrase...and although its a sensitive matter it does concern us all.
Sqad will do -thought that as pain is very very acute and in the same place. Now for the delicate bit -where do I apply the cream? Should I avoid any type of food? Should I take Immodium? What is the cure.....? Sorry for hitting you with all that but my mind wont be at rest until I know.
Dris...put the Procosedyl on your right index finger and insert into the anus three times a day.
Don´t take Imodium, that will "bung you up"

Eat normally have a good Christmas and get it sorted when you get back.

Thank you Sqad -I do love you at times :)
make sure you drink loads of fluids too

Willco bedknobs -never thought of that ...
I've had them, evil things! I have an ointment called Sheriproct on prescription which is fantastic stuff, numbs the pain and makes a huge difference.

Are your bowels normal? If so I'd be loathe to mess about with them. If you are a bit loose then you can get fibresure sachets in places like Boots which you can put in drinks and give you that extra bit of fibre. I used to have it in diluted orange cordial and couldn't tell the difference at all.

If you are sorer round the outside as well, I often use something cooling like Banana Boat Aloe Vera gel or aqueous cream (can store it in the fridge) for some additional relief, never "internally" though. I get this a lot though often mine are very very loose (like water) and feel almost acidic coming out (not sure if it's my malabsorbtion or just as it gets so sore it burns so much).

As bednobs said, lots of water, dry is definitely not good with anything like a fissure...ouch!!!

Are you going somewhere hot? May be an idea to consider your wardrobe to make sure you are comfortable around there and don't get hot or sweaty as I find this can make it worse and more uncomfortable, especially if you have any external soreness as well.

Might be an idea to search out some of those extra soft toilet tissue/wipes to take with you, just making sure you are dry enough afterwards, especially if in hot weather.

Any blood which doesn't look fresh or from something like pile or fissure, mucus, bowel changes or if the pain continues, definitely get it checked out.

ditto above answers BUT you must also go to the docs and have the correct observations and tests! its the tell tale sign for soooo many illnesses inc the big ones!

Sounds like an anal fissure to me - I had one once, the pain was exquisite.... I recommend Proctosedyl ointment.
