I know I am sticking my neck out here but I genuinely would like to ask the question.
I have always valued the sanctity of marriage & indeed as some of you know I was happily married for 58 years,I have a lovely daughter & 2 wonderful grandsons. Now had I have been born gay I would never have had this smashing family,so please explain to me the benefits of being gay ( being of the impression that all animal life produces male & female for the process of keeping the life form going). I am honestly not knocking at anyone but genuinely seek enlightenment. Please take this in the spirit it is meant.Ron.

sqad - in those terms, it bestows no value or purpose whatsoever.

Similarly - wasps appear to have no useful function at all - but nature does not always work in terms of efficiency - which given some of the progeny around today, is just as well!!!
"so please explain to me the benefits of being gay"

Being able to enjoy "Glee" and "sex in the city" without your mates finding out!

Finding Graham Norton funny!

Groping your best female friends breasts (gok wan stylee) without being slapped in the face.

................oooh and my favourite B@m sex :0p
Andy...LOL good point.

But wasps are now an established species because of heterosexuality......if in their embryo years, they had been homosexual, then there would clearly have been no wasps today to "serve no useful function"

Nature or evolution DOES "work that way".......total homosexuality....no species.
Yes - in those terms, it does.

My referencec to nature 'not working that way' was to underline the fact that, although for no discernable purpose, at least one of whcih we are aware - nature allows homosexuality and heterosexuality to co-exist reasonably happily - well it does for me, can't speak for the entire AB community.

(Oh Gawd, what have I started now???????????)
sqad - You have only now added the rider 'total' homosexuality to your point.
It is the absence of reproduction which causes 'extinction' not homosexuality !
My husband was completely homophobic but I always felt that was wrong. People cannot help the way they are made, just because I am a woman and I like men, does not mean that everyone has to do the same as me. I always felt sorry for gays until I discovered they didn't want anyone to feel sympathy for them as they were quite happy as they were, so now I think live and let live.
*wasps appear to have no useful function at all* I don't think they care either - they are quite happy in their existence even though as far as I can see all they do is sting whatever they can. However, I always have the insect spray handy and the fly swatter, just in case they invade my space.

Sqad, you state that 'homosexuality is man made'. Surely love is also man made - we are the only species that has such a concept. Does that make it against nature?
LOL ... now, look ...

What are the "benefits" of "being gay" ?

In physical terms ?

Aaaah, Ronni, Ronni, Ronni ... don't knock it, etc.
