Is it?
Why?
I don't think this country is the only one where terrorists live, Count. They have to live somewhere, and unfortunately this particular one chose this country.
"... lived in Britain UNTIL RECENTLY''.

So, not living in Britain then?

I was soliciting opinion. Please note the question mark. I just wanted other peoples views, to enable me to gauge the feelings as to whether this kind of in incident colours the view of us which other countries have. It certainly gives them ammunition.
I can well believe he was radicalised in Luton. Ever been there?
I don't think the rest of the world hates us, but I think it sees us as a soft touch where suspected terrorists are concerned.

No but I worked with someone who used to live there.
I've got family there.
I think the rest of the world is probably wondering quite why we don't clamp down harder on those so obviously abusing the hospitalities and freedoms afforded them by residing in this country (I know I am !).

Time to stop making excuses

We have our returning troops insulted on the streets, and it is blamed only on a minority.

We have thugs infiltrating the counter marches of the United against Fascism (UAF), and it is reported that it is only a small minority out to cause trouble.

But we have an organisation the English Defence League (EDL) formed to protest against the rise of Islam, and the whole group are blamed if any trouble is started.

We have seen numerous acts of terrorism acted out on our streets, others boarding airliners on route to the USA with the soul purpose of blowing up themselves and all the other passengers, and now we have another home grown terrorist, blowing himself up in Sweden, all blamed on a small minority. Yes a small minority maybe, but just as soon as one sends themselves to ‘kingdom come’ there are always others to take their place.

We have become Europe’s breeding ground for terrorists, due to our lax approach to the problem. How much longer will Europe and the US put up with our over tolerant attitude? France is already criticising the way we dish out benefits to immigrants, which is making Britain a honey pot, which attracts the flotsam of most of the world.
I live in Luton.
well said old git wish i was as eloquent as you i cant even spell, well said you♥♥♥
Hate us? Who are "us"??? And when did "the rest of the world" declare so???
Luton used to be the town where we exported our vauxhall cars. Now they just export terrorism!
Hated is a strong word and resentment may be a more accurate term. Recipients of largesse consider it their right. A gift never has the same value as one you have to pay or work for.
In the eyes of immigrants we are rich and they are poor and as such we should bring them up to our level and beyond. We are a soft touch and have made it possible. You can not buy friendship but you can buy resentment which can become hatred.
However moving away from the thread , what is true for immigrants is also true for those among us who think society owes them a living .
