i have a small clockwork kitchen timer which i would be lost without. the micro has one on it which i also use but i can't hear it if i'm in the garden or living room. never used to use one, only in the last maybe 4-5 years but really don't know i managed without it, just used to rely on looking at the clock and remembering to take stuff out.
anyone else use one or is this another age thing??

Your mobile phone (if you have one) may have a countdown timer on it.

i have a mobile phone but never have it switched on. it stays in my handbag in case of emergencies. trouble is i can't hear it ring in there, that's why it's never switched on.
I have one shaped like a hamburger and one shaped like a ladybird ... both pricelss in the Summer when I'm outside and can't hear the cooker beeping.
ethandron, sounds like you might need a hearing aid rather than a timer ;-)

(You're now going to tell me you've got one, but don't switch it on aren't you?)
