Why is the DVD Michael Collins film on 2 sides? It's not a long film and longer films are on just one side

If the entire film is on both sides of the disc then I have a copy of Shaft like this. I believe that one side is in widescreen and one in normal viewing aspect ratio.

Hi, I just bought that DVD myself, and was a bit confused too! If its the same as mine, it just stopped half way through, and a blue screen appeared instructing you to turn Disk over!
