Does anyone know how to send a text message from my English mobile to a friends American - to English you just get rid of the 0, and +44 to the beginning instead, but Amrican mobile begins 808 - /// - //// Anybody know??

Type +1 before your friends number i.e. +1808///////. If your friends network supports SMS then there should be no problem.
