please don't forget to feed the wild birds in this awful weather - and put some fresh water out for them.

I literally just took delivery of 30kg of sunflower seeds. :-))
I`m wary of putting my bird feeder out this year as last year, we had rats. They love bird feeders.
Rats won't hurt you ... and they're certainly no reason so deny the birds some food.
They are when they`re in my garden :)
Don't forget to put bird posts on the twitchers thread as we are trying to get a new section
I feed the birds every day without fail. i've have put extra out since its been so cold. I'm loving my little robin that has appeared recently. I'm alo getting a very big magpie!
The magpie will be waiting for spring, then he can eat the robin`s eggs.
I dare not feed the birds, it's like dinner on a stick for my furbabies.
oh no I'm going to scare him away next time I see him!!!
Can you come round to my place and scare my magpies away too? I hate those things. A couple of blackbirds layed eggs in the laurel bush last spring and a magpie took the eggs. They started to build another nest and the magpie swooped on them a couple of times. They gave up in the end and went somewhere else to lay.
I've smashed ice in the bird bowls---filled them to the top.
crumbled up 3 slices of bread, and put out another handfull of sultanas.
I'm now a happy bunny, done my good deed for the day
I saved a mouse the other day - the cats had stuffed it under the worktop. I put it in a Tupperware box on the worktop and went to get the back door keys, in the meantime No.1 son had spotted the mouse, dashed at the box and shot the whole lot into the washing up. One bedraggled mouse swimming around..... I fished it out then I thought it would freeze if I let it out, so I gave it a bit of bread and some kitchen paper to dry itself, and put the box in the shed. It's not there now, so I hope it's OK!
Nice one -always do have the lard out already -they are safe enough with my cat :)
Tigger likes a juicy bird so I think I'd better leave the bird feeding. Wouldn't want any little birdies struggling in the jaws of death!
It's when you get the innards left in the kitchen that you wish they wouldn't, tigger...
Well quite Box.

:o(
ive got a new feeding thing which has lots of feeders hanging - seed, peanuts, fat balls etc the birds could have a feast yet ive not seen 1 bird yet?? I would have thought they were very hungry at the moment but it seems not!!
I've only just finished chopping up some left over steak filled ciabatta, cold chicken and wild bird seed for my lot tomorrow morning.
