well no one has explained why it's a draw adequately so JJ allow me!

Both teams have 2 innings in five days for there to be a victory one team must be all out twice with a worse scrore than hose that remain. So imagne that England where all out on day 4 or 5. Australia can win by surpassing the England total in the time allowed. However in this match England had batted twice and where still not out. Australia had batted once and had an entire innings but no time. The thinking is based on the original test matches that could last 3 weeks. eg England would have had to have lost all 10 wickets and then Australia would have chased the total and may well have reached it given unlimited time. So in this case neither team were all out twice hence no one can say who would have one, QED, draw!
